Childhood & Tree :)

Years ago when my mother would call my brother asking him about his whereabouts he would say " mein paed(tree) ke neeche hoon" [I am standing below this tree] which was near to our apartment building. And so this sentence became his pet dialogue. Even if he is not near the tree the same dialogue my parents ended up hearing throughout his teens.

Time changed and this teen grew up, got married and now there's a princess in his home.

Yesterday when I was out on a morning walk, saw my brother sitting under a tree (we changed city so its another one) with his little princess watching a game of cricket. And then I said it to myself - what goes around comes around :)) I am waiting for her to starting talking so we can teach and make her rote that same dialogue :P Would be loads of fun to watch :))

And I am still smiling :)

Cheers!

Work and food :)

When I look back and try to recall some fond memories of past organizations I was associated with, somehow I end up thinking about good food that was served in those companies.

So in Bangalore it all started with A********* and I never liked their Electronic city office cafeteria. But the counters were really good. I still remember the fried maggi we all had 4 in the morning. And then every (alternate) fridays they served cake from CCD. It used to be so fresh and yummie and was the best till now. After a while they switched over to Sweet Chariot for the cake and then it was "ok". Post shift to Belandur, most of the vendors got changed. But then we had variety - be it snacks or lunch / dinner. Pasta, chaat, to name few - coffee, shake - outside on the terrace. Our group had a good time. Such a big cafeteria it was.

Then came my change and this time it was D*. They had only pantry - a small one. Morning and evening tea was must. After a while I started having tea (Ginger) at the outlet (Tea House) once I got down from the bus. Then team lunches at the food court and Aha biryaani was the one where we all ate. The queues used to be long specially on Fridays. We always targeted to be there at least by 12:30 PM to avoid standing in the queue for long. Then our pantry vendor was there to serve chaat and corn flakes ( for as low as Rs 5). Amazing time we all had !

I dont feel like writing the name of this company where I made my last switch. They had a small pantry without any vendor. They did install the vending machine but I didn't get to use it. Basement food court had variety - samosa, samosa chaat & chole bhature at shiv sagar - the quantity and quality was at par. To the left side enclosure, there was a biryaani  counter (green colored rice) and a newly opened counter - again serving some delicious and mouth watering biryaani. The sandwich shop did justice to the coffee, sandwiches and pizzas which they made. And then our "chai point" :)

This Tuesday I tried the tasty sandwiches at "M***** chai" outside our home but it tasted different to me. Did they hire new people ? Did the existing staff leave for their home towns ? Or was it because we now live in another atmosphere of masks and sanitizers ?

I am still looking for the answers above and yes, food has always been part of our key moments / celebrations / daily lives. And it will continue to be like that ....

Eat good and stay healthy !

I am back !

Here comes my post after ages. Its been a while and I almost forgot about this page till Ka**** reminded me of writing. It was one of our usual conversation and we started talking about writing. The conversation took me back to o3 days. She was curious and wanted to know about my blog.

Next day I checked o3. The site was not available. I was really sad! Then pinged our train fan blogger - Vrij - and came to know that o3 doesnt exists and all the attempts made to retrieve the posts went futile. How depressing is that ! Posts written with love and care and the comments on them were like icing on a cake. Those were the days. All my cribbing and crying related to work those days were all recorded.....with live action and reaction :D

Then a good thing happened. Vrij added me to o3 WA group and this gone saturday we had our first virtual session. Though lot of them met in person years ago, I was the odd one out in that group :P But then I keep seeing few of them on fb with their updates - vrij, divya, dte, busybee, vani, lavanya, godo, sumit, ellen, phillips. WOW !

Hope this association continues for lifetime. And its already more than 10+ years :)
