Little Prayer

I met last monday when had gone to South Ext to inquire about a certain course. I met Yashi the same day - felt good - met her after a long long time. I couldnt recognize her initially but when I carefully looked at the female who was smiling at me I was shocked to see her. She has lost her weight & in the process has lost her chubbiness too. We had coffee at CCD & spoke a lot.

Today she called in again - she spoke to Ravi after a long time - wanted to share the same with me -  I sincerely feel proud of Ravi today. He got married few months back. His was an arranged marriage.  Only 10 days before the wedding he came to know that her fiancĂ©e has been tested positive for cancer. Usually guys would back out but he chose to stick to her :) She is going thru the tests which she is suppose to take and I sincerely wish & pray that their bond of love strengthens more with time and she gets well soon . Shocking news was that he lost his father last month. I am hearing sad news for the last couple of weeks - first it was Sumit's mother then our Maid's husband - and now this.

Sumit used to say "arrey humaari amma humaare liye ladki dekh rahin hain" when asked about his matrimonial searches by the guys at work. Guys specially Rajeev used to pull his leg when topic of marriage used to pop-up. He was happy when he got his new job in his native place - Lucknow.Unfortunately the day when he reached there he got the terrible news of his mother.

Maid's husband passed away just before Diwali - I wish and pray that God gives strength to each one of them and their family members during this time. Its not easy - not at all.

My Angels

I am going to write about 2 wonderful people that I met at work - Vipin & Rekha ji. And why I choose to write about them because they were there for me when I needed a helping hand and one of them would be moving to another city and the other I wont get to see/meet that often.

Let me start off with Vipin - I knew there's a guy named Vipin in our process but interacted with him only when we moved together in the same project. We went to US on a short trip along with few more guys and he was one of the them who were always there to help me out whenever I was in need - be it at the BART station helping me out with the baggage or at the stores - telling me which shoe will fit best. The best part was I was at ease with him - one will feel embarrassed specially if you are with a male friend if in a store you come across the bikini section right after the pullover section but I wasn't. In fact we laughed :) He was always there to help me out. When I was unwell he was the one who offered & dropped me at home - he came all the way from Gurgaon where he stays. Even at work he will take things slowly & wont worry much. He will laugh & make others laugh too. That was how the last-week of last month went when i was there in the shift with him. I wish him all the best as he'll be moving to a new position. Thanks for everything, Vipin! God bless n' keep that smile n' 'laugh' on your face!

I met her last year when we started to travel together in the same cab in the morning hours. Oh boy initially she came across like an arrogant female. I guess something wasn't right in her life - dont know what it was and dont want to know. Then slowly we started saying our 'hellos'. One fine day she came to know that am from South of India & that took her by surprise. She too is a Southie but from Kerala. And then we started boarding the same bus when our transport team decided to ply bus on our route instead of cab in the morning hours. And last to last week when I met her after 2 months she hugged me. I needed that hug i guess n' Uppar wala heard it. She is one of the amazing ladies that I've met. Someone who handles and balances out her professional as well as personal commitments. She knows everybody in the corporate sector. She talks to everyone. She smiles, laughes & makes other laugh too. And she is always there to help me out whenever am stuck with transport and always makes a point to pick/drop me no matter if other people are getting picked.dropped :) Even this kind of  a help means a lot to me. She is confident and always full of energy. At 40 I have seen very few ladies in that category. I wish her all the best in life n' pray that she stays like this forever! :)

Action Replayy :)

Downloaded and watched "Action Replayy" today. It was a ok-types movie. 60s and the 70s time mesmerizes me. There were times that I wished i was born in that time to witness the fashion, the glamour and the music of 60s and 70s.  If you watch any movie of that time you will always find open spaces and less populated areas/cities.

Alright coming back to the movie - I expected more from this movie. Though the performances were good but I think it would have been better if they would have twisted the story a bit more. Ash looked stunning in 70s style - Akshay & Ranveer were good too. Comedy was good too - there were good punches. Overall enjoyed the movie :) And yes I would love to see the fashion of 70s making a comeback in the upcoming summer season - i wish it does so that I'll have a reason to buy a new Saree :) (I loved Ash's yellow-orange Saree)

My next target would be Golmaal-3 and sRober downing Jr's movie.

I did not attend any call today - want to be with 'myself' for the time being :)

Sad and Sombre...

It was a sombre Diwali for me this time. I wished people  "Happy Holi" & "Happy New Year" instead of wishing them for Diwali - wont blame anyone - its my own disturbed mind.

I am retracting to my 'own' shell - cant say for how long.

It wasnt a great year for me - be it at personal level or professional.

I still believe in love and marriage though none is made for me :)

I dont believe that its happening to me .....sigh!

I wont meet anyone for dont know how many days....

Thanks S******!

My foot aches, my arm pains, my teeth aches - am all broke .... errrrr..... but am still healthy :D

Quotes:

"I just realized, it's so lonely being free."

"I can embrace myself, hold my own hand, love me - but I can't gaze into my own eyes and feel my own soul lift me up."

Peace!

TV Series

Its been a while that I've written on any drama series aired on TV. I've been watching 'Ugly Betty' for the past couple of days. Star World it seems is running out of some good quality programmes. All our channels shows the same 'saas-bahus' sagas or some crappy 'family-oriented' series. 'Pavitra Rishta' is going no where , 'Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi'- Maan has met with an accident - cant say where the story is heading to, 'yeh rishta kya kehlata hai' - no negative characters in the series but I dont know why they stretch a plot - to get a TRP rating I believe, 'Comedy Circus ka Jadoo' - Kamya makes a comeback with Rajeev (Saloni wasnt there in the episode) - John Abraham was one of the guests on the show - whatever it is John Abraham's smile kills me - anytime anyday :D Even after watching so much of hindi films/serials I cant write about a single guy/girl from our own industry. Why I find american stars so good in their acting dept ? I've written about 'Castle' (one should watch out for Nathan & Stana - apart from their acting skills its the on-screen chemistry which takes away the cake), 'White Collar' (Matt Bomer was good with this acts), "Friends" series. I remember there were few series on starOne years back - Hotel Kingston, Special Squad, Siddhanth - i watched them because they were different from the usual stuff. Siddhanth - few of the episodes touched on real life issues. Whatever it is am missing out onn some good serials on TV .Anyone listening :D

I am dedicating this post to Michael Urie (who plays Marc in the 'Ugly Betty' series). I really love the way he makes those funny expressions while delivering his dialogues. He does it nicely and better than our female actors playing those -ve characters.

Delhi Revisited

After a long time visited South Delhi - this time Raj n' I made a small plan of visiting the historic monuments of our city. As per the plan, we met at Qutub Minar. I reached at around 11 AM. The route which auto waale uncle ji took was the one i was passing by after a gap of more than 2 years. All the old memories flushed thru as it was only yesterday that I shifted from South Delhi to Dwarka. Saw Mahipalpur road in a good condition - not sure whether the road was laid out after the downpour ended or was it in same good condition earlier as well ? whatever it was - it was good. Vasant Kunj - I cant recall a happy/neutral moment when there were pickups scheduled for work from this area earlier n' mine used to be the 1st or the 2nd pick up in the roster. Vasant Kunj, Kishan Garh - for me they were the same - hardly made any difference. N' after a gap of 2 years I was on the Adchini road - it was all together a different feeling. There was a time when I was regular on these routes. But things have changed at my end :)

Anyways coming back to Qutub Minar - I was fearing that my camera might run out of charge as I did not charge them before starting off with my short trip today. I enquired about the batteries which were getting sold outside Qutab Minar - and the prices almost shocked me - a pait of batteries (non-rechargeable) for 160 bucks. The worst part - my camera uses 4 AA size batteries - I did not imagined myself shelling out some 300 bucks for those batteries - no ways. But at the same time wasnt sure how am going to manage. After consulting Raj, I dropped the idea of buying the batteries n' we went inside the premises. We shot pictures and there was this time when one of the security guards on duty suggested as how to get some good shots - Thank You Bhaiya Ji n' am dead sure Raj would be one of the happiest ladies in town today :d (Do check out her fb/orkut a/c though not sure where she is going to upload the pic for the world :D) Man, this guy deserves a pat on the shoulder :) My father told us once (when I was 10-11 yrs old) about the new minar which one of the Raja's tried to build in competition to the Qutub Minar but the task could not be completed as he died after the intial work.So only thing which is visible to our eyes are the remains.

We reached Dilli Haat after Qutub Minar - thats the place where we preferred to have our lunch. We moved to Kalkaji to have a look at the Lotus Temple - it was good. I've been earlier to LT/DH/QM. Delhi has gone a tremendous changes in the past couple of years - I couldnt recognize few of the places. But I welcome the change as we need public transportation like Metro in our city. Area around the LT has undergone a massive change. I dropped Raj back to INA Metro station & took the same auto to Dwarka.

It was all tiring but worth it!

31 over

Completed 31 years of existence on this planet yesterday. It was nice - hearing from all the school & the old pals after a long time. There were sms-es, phone calls, wishes on fb :) can't ask for more.Life was different 10 years back. Sometimes when I think of my age I end up getting jitters. But getting old is a slow & a gradual process. There are still unexplored arena of life which might surprise me in this journey of life. I wish n' pray.........
cheers!
